The Environment: Journey through the world’s southernmost stands of mangroves, saltmarshes, and paperbark woodlands that provide a sanctuary for over 110 bird species, including the endangered Great Egret.
The View: Enjoy expansive, low-line vistas across the silver-green mangroves of Western Port Bay toward the distant silhouette of French Island.
Facilities: Toilets at the beginning and end. Cafes are a short drive away.

Terrain: The timber boardwalk can become quite slick when wet or after a heavy frost. As you move off the boardwalk and onto the natural tracks near the Jacks Beach end, the ground can become quite soft and muddy after rain.
Wildlife: Be alert for tiger snakes and copperheads basking on the warm boardwalk or gravel paths, and maintain a respectful distance from any nesting waterbirds in the surrounding salt marsh.
