Located in La Tzoumaz, this unique mountain theme trail features a smooth, accessible pathway designed to engage all five senses with touch and sound stations that include braille. Winding gently alongside an ancient irrigation channel through the forest, it offers an inclusive and immersive alpine experience for visitors of all abilities.

The Experience: Starting at the Maison de la Forêt, this trail follows the gentle flow of the historic Bisse de Saxon. You’ll encounter 16 interactive stations designed to sharpen your senses, from forest xylophones to scent boxes and tactile “blind” discovery zones.

The View: Enjoy sweeping panoramas of the lush Rhône Valley and the surrounding peaks of the Four Valleys region, all while walking under the shade of ancient subalpine larch and pine trees.

Facilities: Interactive exhibits, playground, picnic area, cafe and toilets.

What to know:

Distance: 5.5kms round trip

Suitability: Walkers, wheelchairs and prams.

Terrain Type: Compacted dirt, loose gravel and boardwalks. Some steep sections.

There is a large parking area just past the Maison de la Foret. Accessible parking is available out the front of Maison de la Foret.

Terrain: There are specific terrain challenges including steep gradients of up to 16% and sections with a 17% transverse slope that can be difficult for those with mobility issues. Additionally, the path features narrow segments (85 cm wide), loose gravel surfaces, and small water channels (4 cm to 10 cm wide).

Wildlife: The Asp Viper and the European Adder are native to the Swiss Alps. While they are shy and usually flee from noise, they may bite if stepped on or disturbed among rocks and sunny patches.
